Bhagavan Bauer
Bhagavan Bauer was born and raised in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, where he grew up in a Spiritual commune for the first 16 years of his life.
At the age of 18 he made a drastic change in his health and fitness. In doing so he inspired many around him to make a change in their own health. In 1997 he moved to New York City to pursue an acting career and acted in plays, films and commercials. At that time he also began to pursue a career as a certified personal trainer and worked at one of the top gyms in the US as a high level specialized trainer. As a trainer, he saw the results being made physically were tremendously increased, and sustained, when combined with internal, personal growth training.
For the past ten years he has been studying personal growth, community development and group facilitation. After taking more than 15 different self-awareness courses., He realizes that working on and growing who he is, is the best way to be effective in his relationships.
With the same enthusiasm that he studied self improvement, he began studying child development and has initiated the application of both self and child development principles, with his children and also in coaching other parents.
From this he isolated and identified seven universal principles essential for sustaining and nurturing family relationships in a conscious and empowering way. He began focusing on family interactions after his work brought about a wonderful transformation in the relationship with his mother.
This shift resulted in a deeper connection than either of them had ever known; a deeper connection with self, a connection with one another and a gratifying ability to deeply connect with others all around.
“My greatest satisfaction and fulfillment is my family, my wife and our two sons. Being able to make an impact and difference in their lives is what brings me the most joy. My second greatest satisfaction comes from sharing what I have learned with others.”
I am a happy mother of two brilliant, creative and loving boys. Both my children were birthed naturally at freestanding birth centers. The eldest was born at the Brooklyn Birth Center in New York City, and the youngest was born at the Birth Center of Delaware in Wilmington.
The passion I feel about caring for women began while pregnant with my first son. At that time I had the privilege, honor and blessing of having a wonderful doula and childbirth mentor assist, educate and nurture me during my pregnancy. It is, in part, because of her and so many other beautiful, loving and compassionate women in my life that I have chosen this path of “mothering the mother”.
My first introduction to yoga, meditation and self-growth was as a young girl through my mother who practiced hatha yoga and eastern philosophy books based on devotion. I have been practicing “the yoga of devotion” for 12 years under the instruction of my spiritual teacher His Holiness Bhakti-Tirtha Swami.
I am a graduate of Cultural Anthropology, received my Integral Yoga Teacher certification while pregnant with my first child, became a Reiki master/teacher while pregnant with my second child and received wholistic training in Pre/postnatal yoga. I love learning!
My specialty is in teaching Purnasya Yoga, a style of yoga I created blending Vinyasa, Integral, Kundalini and Yin yoga with a strong emphasis on alignment and spontaneous movement.
Furthermore, I am certified as an Ayurvedic Thai Bodywork Practitioner and licensed to teach Zumba® Fitness. I have taught as an adjunct professor at Camden College in Southern, NJ, the University of Florida Department of Recreational Sports and for the March of Dimes.
Moreover, I have successfully taught at the renown Yoga Child in Philadelphia. I am grateful to have studied Birthing From Within and trained through Birthworks and Childbirth International, as a doula and childbirth educator and am a breastfeeding counselor.
I am passionate about treading lightly and gently upon the earth we live and leaving as small a footprint as possible, being an advocate and practitioner of gentle parenting, offering life enriching services, and movement exploration. I enjoy combining, offering and sharing the benefits of Thai Bodywork, Reiki, Yoga, Zumba®, Breathwork and Meditation to my clients, friends and family. I am happy to offer my services to you, as well.
