Hitting Snooze on Your Life

I hate alarm clocks

Do you wake up in the morning excited to experience the day, or do you hit the snooze button?

There is a saying “How you do anything is how you do everything.” I may have mentioned this before and it is very important. If you notice you’re doing something in, one area of, your life chances are you’re probably doing it on another area, as well.

Recently, I noticed I was hitting the snooze button A LOT. Now, this may not seem terribly significant but it was beginning to spill over to other areas of my life. If I was hitting the snooze button upon waking up in the morning where else was I doing it?

Let me clarify,“hitting snooze”is a metaphor for putting things off until later.

So, where else in my life was I doing this? Some areas affected were chores around the house, scheduling my week, setting up seminars, exercise and eating. Where in your life are you “hitting snooze”? What important thing(s) do you put off? Maybe it is your health, playing with your kids or freeing yourself of debt. Whatever it is, start to become aware of it and ask yourself, What am I getting out of putting it off and how can I take action, now?

The only time we can do anything about our life is right now.

Be aware of it and ask yourself, what am I getting out of putting it off and how can I take action, now? Remember before you can make any change in your life you need to first become aware of what is currently going on. Next time you’re about to hit snooze, step or sit back, take a breath and notice what is available for you that you may be sleeping through and instead jump into life.
